Students at STEM Innovation Academy are inspired to be passionate about technology and pioneer innovation. STEM IA exposes students to real-world problems, modern technologies, and educates them about the many possibilities for post-secondary and future careers. As part of a local and global innovation ecosystem, we seek collaborative partnerships with post-secondary institutions and industry experts to enrich and inspire life-long learning for students and faculty. Our students will graduate with a technologically diverse skillset and the desire to learn more every day.
Established in 2022, the STEM Innovation Academy Sparkans Robotics team aims to provide an opportunity for willing students to learn, teach, and apply their skillset at a real-world level. We believe in learning through doing, because experience and motivation is more valuable than knowledge alone. Members have shown dedication to the team, and devotion to their own role, demonstrating their passion for robotics and participation in the team.
To extend our impact, members of the Sparkans participate in programs such as MyGroscopes club. MyGroscopes is a club built upon student-created and assembled electronic microscopes to be given to other schools who don't have access to STEM equipment. Recently, the Sparkans also plan to engage, teach, and help teachers from elementary schools to start their own FIRST Lego League team, further inspiring the younger generation into the world of STEM.
